I was a fan of the prequel even though it had those retarded-like super special moves and stuff. I was delighted when I found out there will be a sequel but when I read the first chapter, I knew that the next volumes were going to end in disaster.
First of all, why didn't the mangaka just bury it already?! PoT's finished, everyone's done with the craptastic tennis, the 3rd years graduated, Ryoma went to America. Why was there a need for a sequel, especially in a time setting where they were still in middle school? I can only smell money here, phishing out all the money they can from the fans while PoT is still hot. I mean, every chapter was thin, the chapters had about 15 pages of ridiculous 'tennis matches' and IT WAS EXPENSIVE than the normal tankoubon! What's with that!
And don't even get me started with the art. It NEVER changed, the characters were still stick-like figures with height like that of a giant's despite them being middle and high schoolers. There was totally no development in the characters, the story and the mangaka's skills as well.
But I continued reading it to give it a try, after all, I can see my favorite characters again. It was too much. I sold the 7 volumes that I had. What a total waste of time and money. I don't get how people can easily say it's 'PARFEEEECT 10+++!!' in spite of the stupidity going on in front of their eyes. But eh, it comes down to people's preferences. Have fun everyone.
